I want to make films about people for people.

My name is Igor Devold, I am a film director. I was born in Warsaw but very early I moved with my parents to Oslo where I grew up.

I received a Bachelor’s degree in media studies at the University of Oslo with a two year specialization in documentary directing at Lillehammer College. I returned to Poland to complete a Master of Arts degree in directing at the Polish National Film School in Lodz (PWSFTviT). This was an extraordinary experience for me. I got to know Polish culture, film and I studied at the school where such directors as Krzysztof Kieslowski, Andrzej Wajda and Roman Polanski studied before me. I made several short films there. The films were shown at festivals throughout Europe, Asia and North America. They won several awards in Poland, Norway and in the USA.

I graduated from the PWSFTviT in the spring of 2009 with great marks. I am teaching directing at the University of Oslo, Noroff Institute, NISS, Nordland Film- og Kunstfagskole and at the Lillehammer College.

I am currently developing several projects as director and producer with Devold Film.
