Igor Devold is a fiction and documentary film director. He has a Master's degree in directing from the Polish National Film School (PWSFTviT) in Łódź.

His first short fiction film “Przetrwanie” (“Endurance”) was shown at the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, 2003. His documentary “Dziennikarz” (“The Journalist”) premiered at the 44. Polish Short film Festival in Cracow 2004. The film won the second price at the Polish Youth and Film festival in Koszalin 2004, and has been shown at several festivals in Poland, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, the IDFA festival in Amsterdam 2004 and at the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad 2005 where it received honorable mention. “Dziennikarz” has been shown in Polish television in the public channel TVP Kultura and cable television channel Kino Polska and screened in the regular program of Oslo cinemas (Norway). It has also been bought by the Norwegian Film Institute as part of the “Norwegian Shorts 2005” DVD. His second year film “Jutro” (“Tomorrow”) was first shown at the Henri Langlois Student film Festival in Poitiers 2005 (France) and has been screened at festivals in Poland, Italy, Russia, Spain, Germany, China, Taiwan, Norway and in Polish television. It won the second prize at the New York University festival Next Reel where it competed against 100 films from all over the world.

In 2006 he has been shooting his documentary “My Norwegian Grandfather” on Greenland about his grandfather who occupied Greenland for Norway in 1931, and his DIPLOMA FILM: “Falstart” (“False Start”) shot on location in Oslo, Norway. “False Start“ was released in 2007. It won the “Hour Glass“ at the Norwegian filmfestival in Grimstad 2008 were it also received honerable mention. Igor was nominated best independent director in Poland 2008 and in 2009 he received the scholarship “Young Poland“ for artistic achievements.
