“Devold’s Polish film (“Endurance”) portrays a couple that has lost their child. A serious problem that Devold handles in a masterly way. We never get to know where and how the child disappeared, but the father’s aggresive reaction is beautifully quieted away by the mothers hugs. Simple, elegant and skillfully told, about a relationship that is challenged when a tragedy occurs.”
